Well our 2nd Friday the 13th rolled around for 2007 in July...It was to be a hot sunny day and the excepted turn out was to be high...I rode out after work on the Thur. to camp out at the Kinsmen Camp grounds ( the school ) ... On the ride out I passed many groups of riders heading in the same direction...I was on site and camp set up before 6 pm which was good because as I finished up we had a wild thunder banger come through for about an hour...After the rain I headed into to town ...Things were already hoppin , the hotels and restaurants were all full , bikes were parked up and down the main drag ... There was a few thousand riders already there...
I hung out in town had a perch dinner met a few friends and waited to hear on my new cell phone from the Barr & Sandy &Carl & Terri when they hit town ... Now I hate new gadgets and the cell did me proud ...My bro Mike called from Burlington about 9pm to check on the weather ( GTA was getting pounded by the storm that went through PD at 6 ) and when I finished the call instead of closing it I pressed end and shut it off ...Now around 11pm I decide that with no call Barr decided to come out in the am ... So I headed back to camp to relax ...The music from town could be heard at the school so I set my chair up and kickedback ...I saw across the open field some riders setting up camp about 100 yards away ...And the shadow in the Deckers headlight screamed BARR ... As I walked over Barr see's me and starts yelling Mel Mel , where the hell you been , don't you answer your phone ... Course I laugh and say you never called and take out the turned off cell... :) So I'm an idiot :) ... We got their camp set up and sat up for awhile relaxing and BSing..
I'm an early riser 5 to 5:30 am my body gets me out of sleep... So I took a ride into town and had breakfast ... already the bikes were starting to roll in and line the street ... The town workers were putting up the parking and pedestrian signs and the TV and Radio trucks were grabbing the prime parking spots...
So we have the set up now what happened is wild ... Media says between 150000 to 200000 people with more than 70000 bikes... It was completely insane the bikes stretched out of town for miles ( back as far as Hagersville by noon ) ...The law closed Main St. to all but foot traffic by 9 am ... In my pics you will see 2 shots taken at 1 pm from the bottom of Main looking up at the 4 blocks of the town center and it is packed with people shoulder to shoulder ... Well thats enough of my talk lets do the pics...
