Sept . 24/05 I flew out of Toronto for Texas and 2 weeks of visiting and riding the Great State ..Earlier in the year I had planned with my friends Suds and Bttrfly to meet in Wyoming in July and ride the north west together ...But due to crap on both ends we had to change those plans...( another ride for another time ) .
I flew into Dallas FortWorth airport as Rita was making landfall down south...My Bro Suds picked me up and we headed down to Waxahachie ( waks-a-hach-e ) ...Suds brother Philip had loaned me a 77 IronHead Sporty he owned , to ride for the 2 week visit ...There was still some work to be done on it ( front brake caliper piston being the biggest )
After a couple of try's on the brake Suds knew we had to replace the piston...Sunday we took a ride in the van ( WarWagon ) up to Whichita Falls for a party with Silk -N- Steel MC ...This is an all Ladies Club that has some of the greatest sisters I have ever met...Thx Ladies for making this Ugly Canadian feel welcome....:)...
Monday Bttrfly did some calls to shops and found us a piston at Poole Cycle
So we went up and met the Pooles talked for awhile and then headed out to fix the IronHead...Suds who is a great machinic had the Sporty up and running in an hour ...so we took it out for a test run and faced the rest of the week...Suds had a little side job for a couple of days so I rode the IronHead and hung with Bttrfly and Nikki for that time then Wed. Suds and I got out riding ....
On our way out to drop some news letters out at a new shop Suds clutch cable broke at the eyelet on the lever ( sheared in 1/2 ) ...Bttrfly called Rolling Bones Cycles and Lou brought out a cable and tools at no charge . ( Suds is a well loved and respected biker through out the area ) Suds got the cable on and off we went...We toured the back roads and after a long wrong left turn we found Rolling Bones a few miles away to the right of where we had the problem...( So were Dumbass Bikers what else is new ) ..
Next day Suds and I headed out and checked out D/FW Wing of the Commemorative Air Fource
The air field is in Lancaster Texas , and we were given a guided tour of the hanger and museum ..We got to see a couple of the WWII planes take off ..The history of this place was amazing..
Thur. & Friday we were visited by our good friend Terri ( RunningDeer ) and the Legislative Warrior Sputnik...Sputnik heads up TMRA2 and fights for biker rights in Texas and the USA.
Friday was Terri's birthday so we had a small party and couple of surprises for her...It was an amazing visit getting to listen to Sputnik talk about his life and work...
Saturday we rode up into the city and attended another Silk-n-Steel party , where I got to meet up with my Bro Marco and met alot more great people...At night we went to a bar party and watched a great band and more Aone people...Sunday we went to the SRV Tribute concert at Cowboys ...Great music great people and I got to ride home with Philip....
